The 3M™ Attest™ Steam Biological Indicators (25 per pack, model 1262P) are self-contained vials designed to verify the efficacy of steam sterilization processes. Each contains a highly resistant Geobacillus stearothermophilus spore strip and growth medium, offering a reliable 48-hour visual color change readout to confirm successful sterilization.

Validated for both 250 °F (121 °C) gravity displacement and 270 °F (132 °C) vacuum-assisted steam cycles, ensuring broad application compatibility. -
Self-Contained for Sterility Assurance
Each vial includes all components required for testing—spore, growth medium, indicator—minimizing contamination risk and potential false positives. -
Fast, Visual Readout
Upon sterilization, the chemical indicator changes from rose to brown/black to confirm steam exposure. After crushing and incubation, the growth medium changes from purple to yellow if spores survived—indicating sterilization failure. -
Standards-Compliant & Color-Coded
Meets ISO 11138‑1 and ISO 11138‑3 (2017) standards. The brown cap allows quick recognition in the sterilization workflow. -
